Dorothy Bailey (Aldoricka)

I have been involved in the dog show scene since my school days, firstly Pembroke Welsh Corgis and then Bullmastiffs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, King Charles Spaniels and Japanese Chins. The latter three breeds I own and show at the present time.

My love of Japanese Chins began the first time I saw my friend, Kath Powell showing Pochinka Edward Bear. I followed his show career with interest and asked her that if she ever had a puppy available would she let me know (incidentally my first Cavalier was purchased from Kath’s mother over 35 years ago), whilst choosing a girl puppy from Kath I was thrilled when she gave me the opportunity to purchase Edward.

He is the perfect gentleman and I was so proud last year when at the age of 11 ½ he continued his winning ways by being awarded Best Veteran in Breed at Crufts.

I award C.C.s in Cavaliers and King Charles Spaniels and look forward to awarding C.C.s in Japanese Chins later this year. My one regret is that I didn’t discover how delightful a breed the Japanese Chin is years ago.

I have successfully shown one of Edward’s daughters to Championship status and am currently showing her son. All my Chins are black and white but one day, if I am very lucky, a “red-head” may join the family.
