“Delighted to be invited to judge this lovely breed, at The Northern Japanese Chin Club being held in partnership with Darlington Championship Show at Ripon Racecourse. I was following on from the Championship show, so a thank you to the judge, Mr Lee Cox, for completing his judging promptly and efficiently making it possible for the Club show to start nicely before lunch. Thank you to the Committee for your hospitality and welcome, and to my two stewards for assisting me along the way. Of course the main thank you, must go to the exhibitors, for supporting me with a super entry of 49.”

MPD (3,2)
1 Beadling, Sharlarna Eclipse.
Sadly stood alone in this class but no discredit to his quality for such a youngster. 6.5 months old and coming along nicely. Good body with good spring of rib and solid in construction for one so young. Lovely head and expression with required markings. In good coat for one so young and moved very nicely. Promising.

PD (3)
1 Crane, Cranvarls Back In Black.
Mature coated B/w boy of good size and shape. Body still developing, and will be impressive when he fills out a bit more. Good head with impressive thumb print, well cushioned muzzle and just enough white of eye. A bit over exuberant on the move, but just full of fun, and showed glimpses of his potential. Won on his overall quality. BPD.
2 Blair, Bellflows Ichikawa.
A finer type than the winner, pretty for a boy, and on the dainty side. Again another who’s still developing and who moved nicely when settled. Very much a baby so I look forward to seeing him as an adult. Presented in super crisp white coat.

JD (2,1)
1 Blair, Bellflows Jonny Boy.
Another baby of 10 months of age. Again a fine and daintier type in lovely crisp bright well presented coat. Needs to fill out a little to finish off the shape. Moved well when settled. Another promising baby.

ND (1)
1 Beadling, Sharlarna Eclipse.
See 1st in Minor Puppy.

PGD (4,1)
1 Fleetwood, Abbeyleigh Man On A Mission.
18 month old boy of super quality. Although still a youngster, he appealed on many levels. Head with neat well balanced marking and good cushioning. Firm in underjaw to show a neat head shape. Well bodied and constructed. Enough coat to present a pleasing picture. Moved and showed well when settled. I doubt he’s even at his best yet, but good enough for me to award him Best Dog, Best Opposite Sex in Show, on the day.
2 Bailey, Bentwood Wagamappa Suni At Aldorricka.
A boy with a decent enough head, and enough body for his age. Slightly longer in profile. Moved okay but was a bit spooked by something, which effected his performance.

LD (4)
1 Martin, Cranvarl Student Prince, JW.
A very impressive boy with the loveliest of heads, with super even cushioning and well filled cheeks. A tad more white blaze would really impact his look, as he has the aristocratic appeal about him. Good broad skull, and just enough white of eye. Well bodied, front could be tidier but covered the ground well and with ease. Presented in superb coat and condition and pushed hard for best dog. Close call. RBD.
2 Outridge, Grogan, Lee, Irvine & Ross. Dalehouse Royal Sceptre.
A bigger boy, very masculine with strong head properties. Very well bodied with good spring of rib. Moved well, but slightly too much of him to challenge the winner, but lots to like.

OD (2,1)
1 Blair, Sharlarnas Chaos At Bellflows.
Stood alone, but nice boy with decent enough head, would prefer a tad more black to enhance the expression. Has a daintiness about him which is appealing and carries a decent body. Coat lovely and moved very well.

Sp Open Red/White, Sable/White, Lemon/White D/B (4)
1 Crane Cranvarl Eliza Doolittle.
Nearly two year old girl with nice colour markings with decent head and pigment in line with colour. Good construction and body with a level of daintiness. Coat coming in, moved well. Best R/W in Show.
2 Newberry. Sharlarna Brandy Blaze.
Previously in puppy dog class. 11 month old boy maturing well and full of personality. Lemon and white of promising type and quality with good coat for age. Nice head. Moved well. Best R/W pup in show.

VB (3,1)
1 Blair, Bellflows Honey Bee, VW, Ir. Jun. Ch., Lux. Jun. Ch.
9 yr old girl, very appealing lady so feminine and dainty with so much to like. Well put together with lots of breed type qualities and full of herself. Moved really well. BVIS. 2 Potts, Rakuchin Serenade. 10 yr old girl. Decent girl nice head and a good body, but not happy today.

MPB (3,1)
1 Lindsey, Anjuli Bunny.
7 month old puppy oozing quality and potential. Full of breed type with a super head and impressive symmetrical markings. Firm body for a youngster and well on the way to having good spring of rib and solid construction. Decent front with good bone. Chrysanthemum tail on its way with the promise of a lovely coat. Gave a great performance moving and showing very well. She clearly impressed me, as I only went and awarded her Best Puppy Bitch, Best Bitch in Breed, Best in Show. Exciting times ahead for this young lady I think.
2 Pearce & Hann, Rakuchin Helen Bach.
6 month old baby of such a neat and tidy type. Sweet head with tidy markings enhanced by good white of eye. Moved very well. Nice baby.

PB (1)
1 Crane, Cranvarl Back To Black.
Another very nice baby with super square body shape. So much to like, excellent head and expression and oozes charm and appeal. So nicely put together and in lovely coat for such a youngster. Gave her handler a hardish time, but tidy on the move when settled. A very impressive puppy, who was amongst a number of nice babies today, and one I’m sure will make her mark as she matures. Another I loved.

JB (5)
1 Burns, Adreeam Tootie Frootie.
Classy young lady of the highest quality. Very flattering head markings that create a super portrait and lovely expression. Ideal size for age with preferred daintiness in abundance. Such an impressive profile on the move decided her first place.
2 Sharp-Dixon, Leach, Reyes, Sharlarna Famtastique.
A little similar to winner, finer and ultra feminine and pretty with good cushioned muzzle. Another tidy mover.

NB (1)
1 Leach, Sharlarna Nip and Tuck.
Quality example of the breed with pleasing head and firm under jaw and cushioning. Mall made with a particularly good front and enough bone to meet the preferred dainty appearance. More coat would put her up a notch. Moved nicely.

PGB (5,1)
1 Newberry, Sharlarna Lady Danger For Hermosoangel.
Decent little bitch on the smaller size, with good enough head showing standard half moon white of eye. Prefer a slighter wider muzzle and underjaw to improve overall look. Still developing but had enough quality to win the class.
2 Pearce and Hann, Rakuchin Leap Of Faith.
Another feminine girl of finer type. Needs to develop a little in body to fill out her frame, then I think she will challenge her counterparts. Good for overall type and moved briskly.

LB (4)
1 Lindsey, Somergemz I Own Her At Anjuli.
This girl shows lots of breed type along with quality attributes to clinch this class. Well bodied on close inspection, with firm outline and silhouette. Moderate length of neck to form shoulder placement and well ribbed with broad enough chest. Tail set on well with coat developing. Covers the ground well.
2 Bradley, Sharlarna All Eyes On Me, JW.
Such a lovely girl with so much to like and so much going for her. Very well put together with an impressive body, square and compactly built. Stocky and compact and presented in lovely condition. Super head. Moved wide in front today but covers the ground with ease. Impressive girl which will appeal to many.

OB (4,3)
1 Tong, Ch. Cranvarl Maude.
Lemon and white girl of which has many endearing qualities that gives her her title. Super feminine and the epitome of daintiness but not lacking substance. Such a pleasing head and expression. Profusely coated and presented in tip top nick. A little irrational on the move, but glimpses of soundness clinching the deal. Worthy champ.

ChB (2,1)
1 Grogan, Irvine. It Ch. Vanistica Irma Gerd.
Profusely coated almost 3 yr old girl. Good to handle on the table where her body proportions can be appreciated. Well covered with good spring of rib and just enough neck to support her impressive head. Certainly has the astonished expression but would prefer to see a little less white of eye to soften her look. In good coat and condition, and once settled, gave a very good account of herself on the move and standing, where her attributes won her Reserve Best Bitch and RBIS.
